What are sending limits for new accounts

When you first open an account with Elastic Email, there are certain initial restrictions on sending volume and recipient types.

The trial (pilot) phase

Before you decide to purchase a paid plan, your account operates in a "pilot" mode. This allows you to test the platform without any upfront costs.

During this phase, the following rules apply:

  • You can only send emails to the registered email address associated with your Elastic Email account.

  • There is a limit of 100 emails per day for these internal tests.

  • This limit is intended to let you verify your technical setup (SPF, DKIM, tracking) and see how your messages are rendered in an actual inbox before starting a full-scale campaign.

Why are there limits for new users?

The primary reason for these restrictions is IP and Domain Reputation management. If a new, unverified account were to immediately send a large volume of mail to external addresses, it could trigger spam filters.

By limiting initial traffic to the registered address, we allow you to perform all necessary tests while we verify that the account is being used according to our Terms of Service. This protects our infrastructure and, ultimately, your future deliverability rates.

How to lift sending restrictions

To send emails to external subscribers and remove the daily 100-message cap, you need to transition from the pilot phase to a paid subscription.

Once a subscription is active:

  1. You will be able to send to any verified recipient list.

  2. Your daily limits will be adjusted according to the specific pricing plan you choose.

  3. You gain access to the full power of our transactional and marketing delivery systems.
