Inbox pricing idea is based around "Seats", which are separate user slots for teammates that join your workspace. This article will show you how to manage this area of Inbox.
Please note that when managing your users both Active and Invited users each count towards the seat limit.
Billing
Inbox provides you with a Billing section where you can manage:
Your payment method and information
Invoices
Seats
In order to get to this section, click on your avatar on the lower-left section of the screen, pick "Settings" and switch the screen from "Personal" to "Organization"
The resulting screen will allow you to manage all the above-mentioned billing features of your account.
Update subscription
This section allows you to change a plan by adding or removing seats.
Upgrading your plan by adding additional seats will take effect immediately. When purchasing a higher plan, you will be charged a prorated amount calculated by the Billing screen.
Downgrading your plan (e.g., changing your seat number from 5 to 3) will take effect at the end of your current billing period. This means you will remain on the higher plan until the end of the current billing cycle, and will be charged the lower plan amount upon plan renewal.
Please remember that Seats are not the same as Teammates. Seats are handled by Billing section but you can manage your Teammates directly within Inbox.
Downgrading Seats
You can delete teammates from your Inbox using the "Delete Teammate" option.
This action frees up a seat, which can then be:
Be reassigned to a new teammate, or
Be downgraded within the Billing rules, so that the next billing period will be billed with reduced number of seats.
Please note that you will not receive a refund or credit for the freed-up seat. The seat will remain active and available for you until the end of the current billing period.
Knowing that it also means that:
Adding a seat in Billing will make one unused seat available on the plan, which the Account Owner can use to invite new teammates in the Inbox app.
Removing a teammate will not trigger a plan downgrade in Billing. It will simply free up a seat that the user can assign to a new teammate.
Active and Invited users each count towards the seat limit.
