How to connect Elastic Email with BigCommerce?
The integration takes place directly through the BigCommerce Marketplace and is based on a "Single-Click" model, which simplifies the installation process as much as possible.
Find the application: log in to your BigCommerce administrative panel, go to Apps > Marketplace and search for "Elastic Email".
Install the application: click the Get this App button, then Install.
Accept permissions: review the list of required permissions (access to carts, orders, site content, and customer information) and click Confirm.
Connect account: in the displayed modal window, log in to your Elastic Email account or register a new one if you don't have one yet.
Configure synchronization: after successful authentication, you will be redirected to the integration settings, where you will select recipient lists and map fields.
Why integrate Elastic Email with BigCommerce?
Automatic data synchronization: forget about manual export and import of lists. Data from BigCommerce's built-in forms and pop-ups goes directly to Elastic Email. Contacts synchronized from BigCommerce will automatically be tagged with source: BigCommerce for easy filtering and segmentation.
Better segmentation: you can group customers based on their purchase history, allowing for personalized offers.
Increase sales through automation: use store data to automatically send abandoned cart messages or purchase confirmations.
Compliance and list hygiene: the integration automatically manages subscription statuses, ensuring that marketing reaches only those who have given their consent.
How to use Elastic Email and BigCommerce integration?
After connecting accounts, you can fully leverage the potential of your data:
Contact list selection: you can choose one or more existing lists in Elastic Email to which data should be sent, or create a new list directly within the BigCommerce interface.
Field mapping: match fields from BigCommerce (e.g., First Name, Last Name) to appropriate fields in Elastic Email. You can also create your own custom fields. Note that fields like 'Order count' and 'Total spent' are automatically synchronized and do not require manual mapping.
Synchronization settings: decide whether you want to synchronize only marketing subscribers (people who have given consent) or all contacts.
Subscribers will receive Active status.
Other contacts will be added as Transactional contacts.
What events can you track? (Triggers)
Automations in Elastic Email can be triggered by specific events in your BigCommerce store:
Abandoned cart: the trigger activates automatically when a buyer reaches the final step of the checkout and agrees to marketing, but does not finalize the purchase. Important: For this trigger to function correctly, you must ensure that the email marketing opt-in is visible and enabled in your BigCommerce checkout settings.
Purchase of any product: triggers an action after any completed order.
Purchase of a specific product: allows sending dedicated instructions or complementary offers for selected goods.
Purchase from a category: ideal for building educational paths for specific product groups.
Advanced segmentation
Thanks to data downloaded from BigCommerce, you can create segments in Elastic Email based on:
Order count: E.g., a "Loyal customers" segment for people with more than 5 purchases.
Total spent: E.g., a "VIP" segment for customers who have spent above a certain amount.
Important information
If customer data changes in BigCommerce (e.g., last name), it will be automatically updated in Elastic Email during the next synchronization.
Remember that as a store owner, you are responsible for compliance with the anti-spam policy and ensuring that you send marketing communications only to those who have given their consent.
