Logs are essential for reviewing detailed delivery information for specific contacts. This feature allows you to track the sending status of a campaign for every contact on your list. Since logs are stored for a limited time, it may be beneficial to export them if you plan to analyze the data later. The following instructions provide a comprehensive guide on how to perform this task.

Where Logs Are Stored

Depending on the Plan you are using, the logs are available in the following locations:

  • API Plans

  • Marketing Plans

Log Details

The "Logs" section displays all actions recorded after the emails are sent. You can use the built-in search function to locate a specific contact.

To check the behavior of a specific user, use the "eye" icon. By clicking on the icon, you will see the complete event history, including timestamps. There you will also find a message ID, which is extremely helpful for our Customer Support Team.

Selection and Exporting

Before starting the log export, you need to select the appropriate time period from which the logs will be exported. Relevant information about the maximum retention period for logs is always available in your account.

You can either export all available logs or filter them. To filter-out specific log types, use the three-bar indicator placed next to the "Event" caption:

The image above illustrates how to filter out only "sent" emails and specific "bounce" emails from the "spam" category.

To sum up - your logs can be filtered according to specific parameters, such as

  • Date range - select what date and time range is to be exported

  • Bounce type - a filter used to select only bounced emails, and optionally particular bounce categories

  • Campaigns - just select a particular campaign to export its logs (in Marketing plans)

  • Channels - if you are interested in API or SMTP logs instead, this is a filter for you that selects only these channels

  • Filters - this option filters out just one or more statuses that you'd like to see.

Once you are satisfied with your email log's choice, simply click the "Export" button. The pop-up window that appears will give you the option to select a file name and format. Please note that optional .zip compression is also available. Once you click “Export,” you will be immediately redirected to the Exports page where your new export file will be available for download.

Email Marketing Plans: Campaign Logs

Please note that the campaign logs may appear slightly different. By default, the logs are set to display "last event only" (option enabled), meaning only the most recent actions triggered by emails will be visible in the log list. These values will also appear in the exported logs. Nevertheless, if the "last event only" option is disabled, all subsequent actions (component logs) will be displayed, and the exported file will include these actions as well when using the "export" option.

It is important to note that even after the logs expire, the recorded campaign statistics are still retained in the campaign report.
